F/List Case Study
Overview 
Founded in Austria back in 1950, F/List is a family-owned business spanning three (3) generations. F/List specializes in manufacturing luxury interiors consisting of stone, wood and leather, for aircrafts, yachts, and private residences. Today, F/List has evolved into an international company with over 900 employees worldwide, including a manufacturing plant located in Laval, Quebec.
The Problem
As part of the manufacturing process, finishing applications such as sanding and polishing are required for parts of varying sizes. These parts consist of materials such as epoxy, carbon fiber and plastics which can generate an excessive amount of toxic dust during finishing. If not properly captured, these microscopic dusts contaminate shop air and enter the breathing area of workers. When inhaled, these dusts pose numerous risks including:
- Emphysema
- Asthma
- Black lung
- Silicosis
- Tuberculosis
- Kidney disease
- Lung cancer
The Solution
F/List required an efficient solution that would safely contain and capture toxic dust while offering the versatility to handle parts of varying sizes. The engineered solution proposed by Diversitech was a custom-built Environmental Booth with four (4) Filterhawk Environmental Booth Module (EBM) Dust Collectors. This solution effectively addressed all of F/List’s requirements. As a final touch, we even custom-painted the booth to match the color of the existing paint booths within their manufacturing plant.
